Motion Preview
1. Why slow down your shutter speed?
To allow the camera sensor to capture the movement of the subject.
2. What are the two primary ways to create motion in a photograph?
having a longer shutter speed
3. Why use a Shutter Priority mode?
This setting allows you to set your shutter speed and change other settings like aperture to ensure the shot is well exposed.
4. What are three primary methods to compensate for long shutter speeds when there is too much light?
Small aperture, decreasing the iso and Neutral density filter.
5. From the Web site, what is a good starting shutter speed range (fastest to slowest) that you should start out with when attempting panning?
1/60 sec and 1/15 sec
6. From the video, why is the center auto focus point important for panning?
Video didn't work
7. From the video, why should you use Continuous Drive mode of panning?
video didn't work
8. What does the "AI Servo" auto focus mode do?
tracks the subject on moving objects. It focus on the the subject every time you move as you move its focuses

It captures a sharp photo instead of capturing movement with blur it freezes and captures the sharp in a clear shot
10. Why should you consider using Back Button Focus for action photography?
The focus will stay until you want to change it. when you have events that happen one in a life time and and can't have them over because they didn't come out right this focus everything out every time you move and want to capture everything. Actually focuses on moving subjects and comes out clear.
11. What are some of the challenges of Back Button Focus? You have to constantly keep holding the button down. And if your taking a still photo its going to keep focusing because its supposed to be looking for moving objects.

Stock Photography
1. What is a model release? Why do you need one?
2. Why should you keyword your photos?
4. Why should you save space?
7. What is an alternative to Royalty Free images?
8. In your words, what is the difference between Royalty Free and Rights Managed stock photography?
10. Why is it an interesting legal issue to you?
Model release is when the photographer asks for permission to publish the photograph.
2. Why should you keyword your photos?
So the word can give a general expression of the image.
3. Why do you have to be careful about shooting images with band names or logos?
If the brand is in the photograph and you don't have permission you can get into trouble.
4. Why should you save space?
It's important to save space because it'll leave space for you to add a header and it won't cut the subject off.
5. Why do designers like Royalty Free images?
the model marketing can always change at any minute and Royalty Free there is no charge or anything if you want to make changes or something.
6. Why should designers be careful about using Royalty Free images?
It maybe a very popular image and someone else may also use it.
7. What is an alternative to Royalty Free images?
If two companies have the same model the photographer would go to the best selling company and give them more photos.
8. In your words, what is the difference between Royalty Free and Rights Managed stock photography?
Rights managed is where you need a license to take the photo and you cannot make any changes. With Royalty Free you can alter it a little bit.
9. What is a legal issue that is covered in the FAQ that you never thought of before you read about it?
I read that just having a logo or brand name in your photo can be a problem.
10. Why is it an interesting legal issue to you?
It's interesting because I was unaware that is considered wrong .

Raw vs. JPEG
Part 1:
What are three advantages of a RAW file: Some advantages of a RAW file are, higher in dynamic range meaning it picks up shadow and highlights, umcompressed, and you have more control.
What is one disadvantage of a RAW file: Not as sharp.
What are three advantages of a JPEG file: It's higher in contrast, sharper, and ready to share immediately.
What is one disadvantage of a JPEG file: Lower in dynamic.
Part 2:
1. Write your own one sentence definition of what a JPEG file is.
Better for fast paced events that don't need to be processed.
2. Write your own one sentence definition of what a RAW file is.
Better for fast paced events that don't need to be processed.
2. Write your own one sentence definition of what a RAW file is.
Unprocessed material that hasn't been compressed or manipulated by the computer.
Part 3:
1. Under the first heading "Capturing the Images," how much of the data does a RAW file retain after it is captured by the camera? All of it.
2. Under the second heading "Processing the Files," what are some of the things that a RAW file enables a photographer to edit after the image is taken? more saturation, white balance etc.
3. Under the third heading "Practicalities," what are some of the factors that photographers must consider when deciding to shoot in RAW? Being able to transfer them.
4. Under the fourth heading "Which one is for you?" why would an aspiring professional photographer need to know how to work with RAW files? So he/she can edit and process those pictures.
Part 4:
1. Make a list of three occasions it would be better to shoot in RAW. Prom Photos, Graduation, and weddings.
2. Make a list of three occasions it would be better to shoot in JPEG. Sports, Magazines, and wildlife.

Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO Review
Part 1: Aperture
1. A lot of people say the human eyes.
1. A lot of people say the human eyes.
2. The smaller the Aperture the larger the f-stop, the higher the Aperture the smaller f-stop.
3. Aperture has an impact on depth of field because the larger f- number brings the background and foreground to focus. The smaller f-number the more the background will appear and by doing that the image will look sharper.
4. f/1.4, f/2,f/2.8,f/4,f/5.6,f/8
5. Maximum aperture of f/4.0 and the minimum is f/16.
Part 2: Shutter Speed
Shutter Priority, Manual and Aperture Priority.
5. Maximum aperture of f/4.0 and the minimum is f/16.
Part 2: Shutter Speed
Slow Shutter Speed |
High Shutter Speed |
Shutter Priority mode is where you set the shutter speed and the camera automatically sets it aperture.
Manual mode is where you choose both the shutter speed and the aperture manually.
Aperture Priority is when you set the lens aperture and then the camera automatically sets its shutter speed.
1. The advantages are the higher iso is great when you don't have a lot of light available to you so it'd be perfect for a night baseball game.
2. The authors suggestions when using lower iso were if you have a lot of light available to you, you should use a lower iso like 100 or 200.
3. Only use higher iso if there isn't a lot of light available to you.
4.
