Walnut Grove is a very quaint community let alone an innocent one at that. This innocent community was about to get a big reputation ruiner. On December 12, 2001 Casey Mitchel 16 years old is left alone with baby Jack. Mind you their mother Lisa is a single mother working two jobs with two kids. 9-1-1 dispatcher Kelly Green received a nerve recking call around 2:18 p.m. reporting a fire in her 2 year old baby brother Jack's room. Kelly sent police and the fire department over to Walnut Grove right away. Arriving at the scene 10 minutes prior to the call being made. The fire had gotten worse than described to Kelly on the phone and baby Jack still wasn't out. Fire fighter John Kinnley breaking in through the window finding baby Jack a rescuing him. Though Baby Jack survived there were miner injuries but nothing permanent. Not knowing exactly how the fire started there were some guesses of how the fire started nothing intentional but some say their was an electrical issue.
